Career Specialties

Newman specializes in monetary theory, macroeconomic theory and late nineteenth and early twentieth-century American economic history.

Professional and Community Activities

Newman's scholarship includes Cronyism: Liberty versus Power in Early America, 1607-1849 (2021) and editing Murray Rothbard's Conceived in Liberty Volume V: The New Republic, 1784-1791 (2019). He has also published papers on the 1906 Meat Inspection Act, the 1890 Sherman Antitrust Act, and 1920s monetary policy.

Newman provides consulting on macroeconomic trends and has appeared on multiple news outlets and numerous podcasts.

Newman is a judge and member of the Advisory Council for Incubate Debate, which hosts tournaments for high-school students across Florida.
