In addition, on Saturday, April 18, the University will hosts it annual Human Rights Day Conference. Organized by UT's Human Rights Think Tank, the conference is dedicated to the understanding, analysis and promotion of the global human rights movement. Presentations will be made by students, academicians and human rights activists. The keynote speaker is Shulamith Koenig, founder of PDHRE, People’s Movement for Human Rights Learning, one of five U.S. recipients of the 2003 UN Prize. The conference will be held on the 9th floor of the Vaughn Center from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
