Career Specialties
J.C. Andersen currently serves as the director of the athletic training program. Andersen is a board-certified and state-licensed athletic trainer as well as a state-licensed physical therapist. He has also earned distinction as a board-certified clinical specialist in sports physical therapy. His research interests include pain treatment in athletes, athlete workload monitoring, rehabilitation interventions in lower extremity and spine injuries in athletes and health professions education. Also, Andersen has published his work in regional, national and international journals and has presented multiple presentations at state, national and international conferences.
Professional and Community Activities
Andersen is an active member of the National Athletic Trainers’ Association, the American Physical Therapy Association, the International Association for the Study of Pain and the National Strength and Conditioning Association. Andersen also serves a peer reviewer for multiple journals including the Journal of Orthopaedic and Sports Physical Therapy, the Journal of Athletic Training and the Journal of Women’s and Pelvic Health Physical Therapy. Andersen also serves as a peer reviewer for the Commission on Accreditation for Athletic Training Education (CAATE).
