The Language Learning Center, located in the Southard Family Building (previously the Riverside Center) on the UT campus, is a state-of-the-art digital language environment that features two spacious collaborative classroom areas, the Language Labs, equipped with:
- An instructor podium with a desktop computer and two LCD monitors
- Extron touch panel to control A/V equipment
- HDMI laptop input capability
- HD document camera
- Spectrum tuner to access international programming
- TalkAbroad to connect learners with native speakers for real-world conversations in real time
- A multiregional Blu-ray player
- Ceiling sound system for program playback
- NetSupport classroom management system (CMS) installed on the instructor station, which allows instructors to guide, monitor and control student learning individually or in groups
- Moveable student work stations that can be configured for optimum collaboration
- Wireless laptop computers with cameras and headsets
- NetSupport client installed on all student laptop computers
- 70-inch monitors and Clarus boards installed on three of the walls (Each monitor can project a different source.)
- Sharelink capability that allows students to project their laptop desktop onto one of the two side 70-inch monitors
- Student assistants who are available to support faculty and students in their use of the technology
