Student using a laptop

The music technology concentration of the music major is designed for students who are interested in electronic music, audio engineering, music production and/or composition. Students in the music technology concentration focus on creativity, innovation and professional development in the field of music technology. This flexible curriculum can accommodate any student, regardless of their previous musical background or level of technical training.

Admission

The music technology concentration does not require an audition or a portfolio submission for program acceptance. Students are considered admitted once they have been accepted to UT as a Bachelor of Arts in Music degree student and have submitted a Music Audition Intent form in their SpartanStart portal to declare their intent to pursue the music technology concentration of the music major. Although a Music Audition Intent form is required, completing an actual audition is optional for music technology students and only needed if the student is also applying for a music scholarship as well.

Degree Requirements

A complete list of degree requirements for the music technology concentration can be found on the UT catalog.
