#53 Plant Hall

  • Plant Hall was built in 1891 by Henry B. Plant as the Tampa Bay Hotel and was popular among famous visitors such as Babe Ruth and Queen Elizabeth.
  • While The University of Tampa was established in 1931, it relocated to Plant Hall in 1933, where it served as the main site for the university.
  • Today, Plant Hall houses many different facilities and offices, such as our main admissions offices, financial aid office and three floors of classrooms.

#11 Vaughn Center

  • The first two floors of the Vaughn Center serves as our student union. Here you’ll find the campus bookstore, buffet-style dining hall, a computer lab, and movie theater. Vaughn also houses a second eating location for on-the-go options such as Chick-fil-A and Einstein’s Bagels.
  • Past the second floor of Vaughn is six floors of first-year student housing. These residential floors, like all other residence halls on campus, require the students who live there to swipe their ID cards upon entrance, as a safety precaution.
  • Outside the Vaughn Center is the Vaughn Courtyard, where students socialize and study in their free time. Here you’ll also find our Greek Rock Garden. You can learn more about Fraternity and Sorority Life at UT on our website under “Campus Life.”.

#32 Dickey Health and Wellness Center

  • The Health and Wellness Center provides students with both physical and mental health services.
  • Students can sign up for sessions to meet with a mental health counselor on campus and make appointments for physical services at no cost to them. Students receive six free counseling sessions per year.
  • The clinicians at the wellness center are affiliated with Tampa General Hospital.

#16 Benson Alex Riseman Fitness and Recreation Center

  • UT’s 40,000-square-foot Fitness and Recreation Center was built in the Fall of 2016 and is currently expanding to 128,000 square feet. The first floor has over 200 cardio machines, while the second floor is dedicated to free weights.
  • UT offers over 50 group fitness classes per week, as well as bike rentals. All classes and rentals are included in your tuition.
  • The Benson Alex Risemen Fitness and Recreation Center was completed in January of 2022 and features new basketball courts, sand beach volleyball courts and an aquatic center complete with a lap pool, hot tubs and pool deck.

#65 Sykes Chapel and Center for Faith and Values

  • The University of Tampa is an independent university and is not religiously affiliated. We pride ourselves on providing spaces of worship for students of all background to practice their faith.
  • Students can use meditation rooms, found in the building’s left wing, and religious material to incorporate in their practices.
  • The chapel is home to the largest organ in the Southeast United States, containing 3,184 single pipes.

#66 Sykes College of Business

  • The University of Tampa is well known for the accomplishments of its highly-ranked Sykes College of Business, which is accredited by AACSB International.
  • Within the business school is our Financial Trading Center, which gives students the opportunity to invest institutional funds in the stock market and hone their skills in a stress-free, hands-on environment.

#23 Academic Success Center

  • The Academic Success Center provides walk-in academic advising services and peer tutoring programs, and also supports students receiving academic accommodations.
  • Students seeking an on-campus job may find work here tutoring fellow students and building experience for their résumé.

#33 Morsani Hall/Dining

  • The first floor of Morsani features dining options including Star Ginger, Dairy Queen, Salsa Rico, Pandinis, Panache and our on-campus grocery store.
  • Floors two and above are first-year housing. Suites consist of two double bedrooms connected to a common area with an attached bathroom.

#13 Aquatic Center

  • This is the location of our on-campus pool, where students are able to utilize cabanas and Wi-Fi for studying. This is also where our Division II swim team conducts their daily practices.

  • The library offers two stories of study spaces and more than 300,000 different research materials. Students may use their Spartan ID cards to access study rooms for group projects or a private space to study. Research librarians are available to help students find materials they need for classes and research, including books at surrounding Tampa area libraries.
  • Students also have complete access to electronic databases paid for by the university, even post-graduation.

#63 Southard Family Building

  • The Office of Career Services is housed in the Southard Family Building. Here, students can get assistance exploring different majors, writing résumés and cover letters and obtaining internships. More than 5,300 internships are available to UT students annually.
  • Located on the right side of the building is our mail services center, which allows students to receive mail and packages during and after normal business hours.
