Benson Alex Riseman Aquatic Center Rules
- NO DIVING.
- No food or beverages in the pool/spa or on pool/spa wet deck.
- No glass or animals in the fenced pool/spa area.
- Shower before entering.
- Do not swallow the pool/spa water.
Use of the lap pool, leisure pool or spa is prohibited outside of the designated hours of operation.
Distracting the lifeguards on duty is prohibited.
Running, pushing or other dangerous actions on the pool deck are prohibited.
Rollerblades, skateboards or bicycles are prohibited on the pool deck.
Profanity and/or vulgar actions are prohibited.
Audio from personal devices is only permitted with the use of headphones.
Appropriate swim attire must be worn at all times. Aquatic Center staff reserves the right to ask patrons to change attire and/or leave the pool area if attire is deemed inappropriate.
- Proper swim attire is defined as clothing that is designed for use in the water; specific items are listed below for reference. In addition, all swimwear must not indecently expose parts of the body, be transparent, or display obscene or offensive pictures and slogans. This list is not exhaustive, and Aquatic Center staff reserves the right to determine if swimwear is inappropriate.

- Bathing suits that do not have proper coverage
- Undergarments
- Jeans and clothing with grommets

Snacks and non-alcoholic beverages in a sealable, non-glass container are only permitted on the upper deck. Only water in a sealable, non-glass container is permitted on the main pool deck.
Flipping into the pool is prohibited.
Sitting, pulling on or hanging on the lane lines or volleyball net is prohibited.
Adult supervision is required for children under the age of 16.
The use of diapers or adult disposable underwear is prohibited in the lap pool, leisure pool and spa.
Patrons with open wounds, sores or evidence of infectious diseases are prohibited from entering the pool, regardless of if there is a dressing or Band-Aid covering said wound.
The University of Tampa and the Benson Alex Riseman Fitness and Recreation Center are not responsible for lost or stolen items.
Aquatic Center staff has the right to close the facility for safety reasons at any time.
Notify lifeguards in case of an emergency.
ONLY one (1) guest per student, faculty or staff is permitted in the Riseman Aquatic Center at a given time. All guests must be over the age of 16 and must be accompanied by someone with a valid Spartan Card at all times.
Maximum water temperature: 104 degrees Fahrenheit
Maximum use: 15 minutes
Children under 12 years old must have adult supervision.
Use the steps to enter and exit.
No jumping or diving.
Pregnant women, small children, people with health problems, and people using alcohol, narcotics or other drugs that can cause drowsiness should not use spa without first consulting a doctor.
Participants are advised to keep their heads above the water.
The coping (where the pool structure meets the surrounding deck) around the spa is not a bench. Please do not sit on the coping at any time unless entering the pool using the ADA handrail.
Lap Pool Bathing Load: 174 Persons
Leisure Pool Bathing Load: 59 Persons
Spa Bathing Load: 34 Persons
Riseman Aquatic Center Capacity: 332 Persons
Lap Pool Maximum Depth: 6 feet, 7 inches
Leisure Pool Maximum Depth: 4 feet
Spa Maximum Depth: 3 feet
