Bystander Intervention
All students and community members play a critical role in preventing sexual and relationship violence. View a short video on how to be an active bystander and the role(s) you can play to help friends and fellow students from becoming victims of violence.
The Office of Student Care and Advocacy can conduct bystander intervention trainings for students, faculty, and staff upon request. For more information, please email the Victim Advocate at victimadvocacy@ut.edu.
R.A.D.
R.A.D. is an empowering experience that focuses on developing women’s self-defense options, making them viable considerations when faced with attacks. Through education, instilling self-dependency, encouraging decision-making, and realizing physical power, women undergo a transformative process, enhancing their ability to protect themselves confidently. The R.A.D. Systems of Self-Defense programs include educational components comprised of lecture, discussion and physical resistive strategies, all of which are facilitated by certified R.A.D. instructors.
