Honors Thesis
Dana Corrigan has an MFA in Animation from Savannah College of Art and Design and had her BA from the University of Tampa in Electronic Media Art and Technology. She has been teaching at the college level since 2011, and classes she teaches include 2D Animation I and II, 3D Animation, Digital Art, Digital Drawing. Additionally, she has taught at the University of South Florida, Elite Animation Academy and ITU including courses in Visual Storytelling, 2D Animation Production, Character Concept Design and Motion Graphics, and was a consultant for the Neuro-shifts animation team for content aimed for neuro-divergent adults and their families.
Dana’s specialty lies in 2D production, and she’s co-founder of Pencil Gator Animation Studio in 2021. She has worked as a freelance animator and digital artist since 2006, working on projects including e-cards, instructional videos, animated short films, TV pilots and pitch decks, including Ink and Paint for the Hazbin Hotel TV Pilot.
Dana was a recipient of the best Adjunct Professor award from the University of Tampa in Fall 2023, the Polished Apple Award at the University of South Florida in Spring 2024. She has been a speaker at various conventions and events including SIGGRAPH in 2021 and 2024, and her original project, Chorus to Dero, won Best Animation Pilot at Catalyst Content Festival in 2024.
