Professional and Community Activities

Since joining the University in 2005, Tim Harding has spearheaded the institution-wide Spartan Ready® initiative, which focuses on career readiness, employability and competency development.

Harding is deeply committed to career readiness and competency development in higher education. As a co-founder of the prestigious annual National Competency Development Symposium, Harding has established himself as a thought leader in the field. He has delivered keynote addresses at numerous conferences, and led a wide range of workshops, retreats, and presentations for both professional associations and higher education institutions. Additionally, he has chaired the National Association of Colleges and Employers (NACE) Task Force on Career Readiness and Competency Development, further solidifying his expertise and leadership in this critical area.

Harding has contributed his expertise to numerous external peer review committees for various universities and colleges, where he has conducted stakeholder interviews and evaluated departmental self-assessments to highlight program strengths and areas for improvement. In addition to these efforts, Harding has served on external peer review committees for regional accreditation, playing a key role in assessing institutions' Quality Enhancement Plans (QEP). His involvement in these high-level reviews demonstrates his commitment to fostering academic and institutional excellence across higher education.
