Career Specialties

Maria Popel graduated with a law degree and had 12 years of work experience in the international shipping business in her hometown of Tallinn, Estonia, before coming to the U.S. Since education and travel are two of her passions, she joined UT as the first international student pursuing the M.S. in Instructional Design and Technology. While a student at UT, Popel worked as graduate assistant in the Office of Graduate and Continuing studies.

Popel has visited 35 countries all over the world, acquiring exceptional understanding of cultural and legal differences between people. She is proud to promote and represent UT at global recruitment events and admissions panels in over 15 countries.
