Stephanie Tripp specializes in the theories and practices of digital media, especially as they pertain to notions of place and community identification. Her work explores new methods of scholarly research and writing in the digital age.

Professional and Community Activities

Tripp is involved with several professional organizations, including the University Film and Video Association, the International Digital Media and Arts Association and the Society for Cinema and Media Studies. She has published several peer-reviewed articles in journals and scholarly collections, and she is working on a book about the relationship between cultural haunting and digital communications technologies. Tripp's interactive media projects examine how individuals and communities imagine the places they inhabit and encourage participants to re-imagine those places as sites of social and aesthetic engagement.
