Students and alumni who have earned a bachelor's degree in education from UT are guaranteed admission to the M.Ed. in curriculum and instruction program. Please email ut2ut@ut.edu if you are interested or have questions about guaranteed admission.
For all other applicants:
- Must hold a current Florida Professional Teaching Certificate, bachelor’s degree in an area of education, statement of eligibility for Florida Professional Teaching Certificate or professional teaching certificate from another state
- Official transcript(s) from all colleges and/or universities previously attended
- Completed application
- Application fee of $40
- Two reference forms
- Résumé
- Personal statement addressing the reason for seeking an advanced degree
- TOEFL for those applicants whose primary language is not English
The program welcomes applications from individuals who have strong academic, school leadership and teaching records and who have experience and interest in educational leadership. To be accepted, applicants must meet the following requirements:
- Completed application for the University
- $40 application fee
- Official transcripts for all previous college work received directly from each institution
- Applicants must have earned a four-year degree from a regionally accredited institution in the subject area designated by their intended program.
- Applicants need to have an overall GPA of 3.0 out of a possible 4.0, or a minimum of 3.0 in the last 60 credit hours of undergraduate study.
- A minimum of at least two years successful teaching experience
- Two letters of recommendation from educational peers or supervisors, one of which is the current or most recent supervisor
- Résumé
- Personal statement addressing why they seek a graduate-level degree
- Completed application
- Application fee of $40
- Official transcripts for all previous college work received directly from each institution
