UTampa Named One of the Best Colleges by the Princeton Review

The University of Tampa again has been named by The Princeton Review as one of the nation's best institutions for undergraduate education and is described as a “sunny, growing, global university.”

Only 15% of U.S. four-year colleges and universities are selected for inclusion.

The University of Tampa again has been named by The Princeton Review as one of the nation's best institutions for undergraduate education and is described as a “sunny, growing, global university.”

The rankings, “2025 Best Colleges,” are based on surveys of 168,000 students at 389 top colleges. The Princeton Review also chooses the colleges for the book based on data it annually collects from surveys of 2,000 college administrators about their institutions’ academic offerings.

"We salute The University of Tampa for its outstanding academics, and its many other impressive offerings. We recommend it as an ideal choice for students searching for their ‘best-fit’ college,” said Rob Franek, the Princeton Review's Editor-in-Chief and lead author of The Best 390 Colleges.

In its profile, students praise UTampa’s “many resources and opportunities” for “hands-on and experiential learning.” They also acknowledge the “amazing professors” who are “very much available for extra help or extra explanations both during and outside of class,” and who give students “the opportunity to create and carry out experiments.”

Students also mentioned that UTampa is “very diverse in that people from all different cultures make up the community,” and as such, students are introduced to a large variety of “beliefs, backgrounds, ethnicities, and ideologies.”

In a “Survey Says” sidebar in the book's profile on UTampa, The Princeton Review lists topics that UTampa students who were surveyed were in most agreement about in their answers. The list includes: “Students love Tampa, FL,” “Easy to get around campus,” and “Recreation facilities are great.”

In Princeton Review’s “2025 Best Colleges: Region by Region” web feature, UTampa is recognized as one of the top colleges in the South for being “academically outstanding” and well worth consideration in students’ college searches.
