Guest Clarinetist and Cellist Join UT Pianist for Recital Feb. 28

Florida Orchestra clarinetist Erika Shrauger and University of South Florida cellist Scott Kluksdahl will team up with University of Tampa pianist Grigorios Zamparas for a chamber music recital on Thursday, Feb. 28. The recital begins at 7:30 p.m. in the Plant Hall Grand Salon and is free and open to the public.

The program for the event will include piano trios by Brahms and Beethoven.

Shrauger has been assistant principal, second chair and E-flat clarinet of The Florida Orchestra since 1991. She also serves as the second clarinetist of the Santa Fe Opera Orchestra and has held orchestral positions with the Colorado Symphony and the New World Symphony. Shrauger has appeared as a soloist with the Philadelphia Orchestra and the Buffalo Philharmonic. She has extensive chamber music experience and teaches clarinet privately in the Tampa Bay area.

Kluksdahl, a professor of violoncello at USF, has performed as an orchestral soloist, recitalist and chamber musician in major centers throughout the United States, Europe, Israel, and Latin America. Today, he commissions, premieres and records work from contemporary composers, including Elliott Carter, Robert Helps and Bernard Rands. Kluksdahl is also a recipient of the Tanglewood Music Center’s Leonard Bernstein Fellowship. 

Zamparas is an associate professor of music and director of piano studies at UT. He is an active concert pianist and performs both as a soloist and in chamber music ensembles. He has given master classes around the world.
