Panel of Biometrics Experts to Speak at UT Sept. 20

On Tuesday, Sept. 20, The University of Tampa will host a panel of biometrics experts who have worked with the Department of Homeland Security, FBI, CIA and National Security Agency to share their career experiences and discuss emerging career opportunities in their field. The event will run from 6:30–8 p.m. in the Cybersecurity Lab, Room 122 in the Daly Innovation and Collaboration Building, and is free and open to the public.

Panelists will include Mark DiFraia, senior director of market development for MorphoTrust; Ken Meiser, vice president of identity solutions at ID Analytics; Travis Edwards, public affairs officer for the U.S. Department of Homeland Security; and Christina Sauser, principal solutions engineer and customer experience center project manager for MorphoTrust.

The panel will explore how people with many different degrees are needed to create solutions for the future, from international studies and political science, to psychology and art.

The panel is being held in conjunction with the Global Identity Summit (GIS), the U.S. federal government’s primary outreach and collaboration-building event with the worldwide identity community, which is being held this year at the Tampa Convention Center Sept. 19–22.
