University of Tampa Chapter of American Chemical Society Recognized

The University of Tampa’s student chapter of the American Chemical Society (ACS) received an honorable mention award for its activities conducted during the 2017-2018 academic year.

The chapter and faculty advisors will be recognized at the 257th ACS National Meeting in Orlando later this spring.

John Struss, assistant professor of chemistry, and Laura Henchey, lecturer in chemistry, are chapter advisors.

Peter K. Dorhout, 2018 president of the ACS, said that Struss and Henchey are one of few faculty members who are “willing to make the great commitment of time and energy that a successful chapter requires.”

“Professor Struss and Professor Henchey’s efforts certainly represent the best in undergraduate science education and mentoring around the country,” Dorhout said.

The University of Tampa will begin offering a Doctor of Medical Science (DMSc) program that will advance the educational and professional development of healthcare practitioners.
