UT Economic Professors Give Update on Tampa Bay Economy on April 4

John Stinespring and Vivekanand Jayakumar, associate professors of economics at The University of Tampa, will present an update on the Tampa Bay economy as well as an outlook of the global economy at the Adam Smith Breakfast. The event will be held on Thursday, April 4, from 7:30-9:30 a.m. in the Crescent Club, located on the ninth floor of the Vaughn Center.

The Adam Smith Breakfast is provided for local business community members operating in a global economy. Proceeds from the breakfast will support the Adam Smith Society, the honor society of the Department of Economics.

Stinespring specializes in the impact of fiscal policy on economic growth, tax evasion and financial crises. His recent publications examine the dynamic scoring of tax cuts on economic growth and the long-term impact of tax cuts on government revenues. Stinespring is a member of the American Economic Association and American Association of University Professors. He is also a frequent guest on various television shows including Your Turn on Fox 13 and Bay News 9.

Jayakumar specializes in macroeconomics, international finance, monetary economics, development economics and economic growth, while conducting research focused on open-economy economics. His research has been published in the International Review of Finance, Macroeconomics & Finance Emerging Market Economies, and the Journal of Financial and Economic Practice.
