UT Students Head Into the Streets to Volunteer

While they just moved onto campus, UT students are already making their way into the Tampa community.

While they just moved onto campus, UT students are already making their way into the Tampa community.
On Friday, Aug. 26, students from The University of Tampa will be scrubbing floors for the elderly and harvesting organic vegetables at a community farm during the 13th annual Into the Streets volunteer event. The PEACE Volunteer Center coordinates the annual day of service, which includes more than 650 students, faculty and staff, including 15 members of the Men’s Basketball team.
Some ways the participants will be getting their hands dirty include sorting donations, painting, cleaning, gardening, playing games with children, or preparing and serving meals.
The goal of this program is for incoming students to realize the importance of giving back to the community and to continue volunteering throughout their time at UT and beyond. All incoming students, as well as faculty and staff, are invited to participate.
