UT Unveils Redesigned License Plate

After 10 years of its specialty license plate adorning Florida-based vehicles, the University of Tampa has redesigned its license plate to have a stronger adherence to the University brand.

The new plate will be available to purchase from the State of Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles the week of Sept. 28.

Spartan fans can switch to the new UT plate for an additional $27 the next time they register their cars.

For those who currently have a UT tag, they can either wait until their 10-year tag replacement to get the new plate for no additional cost or pay $28 to get the new plate immediately.

For each plate purchased, $25 goes to UT to help fund scholarships and academic improvements.

UT began its specialty license plate program in 2005, and there are currently approximately 1,500 UT plates on Florida vehicles.

Learn more about the new UT License Plate, or visit Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles. Or, individuals can call UT’s Office of Alumni and Parent Relations at (813) 253-6209 or email alumni@ut.edu.
