UT Will Bring The Rocky Horror Show to Life Nov. 19–22

On Nov. 19–22, The University of Tampa will stage the uproarious musical comedy The Rocky Horror Show. Show times are 8 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 19; 8 p.m. and midnight on Friday, Nov. 20; 8 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 21; and 2 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 22. All performances will be in Falk Theatre, located at 428 W. Kennedy Blvd.

The Rocky Horror Show is a wildly humorous musical tribute to the science fiction and horror B movies of the late 1940s to the early 1970s. The musical tells the story of a newly engaged couple getting caught in a storm and coming to the home of a mad transvestite scientist unveiling his new creation, a muscle man named Rocky.

First produced in the early ’70s, the musical by Richard O’Brien was adapted into the film The Rocky Horror Picture Show and has become a cult classic phenomenon.

More than 20 student performers under the direction of Paul Finocchiaro, assistant professor of theatre, will bring Frank N. Furter, Magenta, Columbia, Janet Weiss, Brad Majors and all the rest of the show’s beloved characters to life. Set and lighting design are by Alex Amyot, costume design is by Frank Chavez and stage props are by Jarrid Fox.
