Jason Vuic, whose most recent book, The Yucks! Two Years in Tampa with the Losingest Team in NFL History, chronicles the Tampa Bay Buccaneers losing streak during the 1976 and 1977 seasons, will stop by The University of Tampa on Wednesday, Nov. 9.

The Collegiate Entrepreneurs’ Organization (CEO), which has its national headquarters in The University of Tampa’s Lowth Entrepreneurship Center, will host its annual CEO National Conference Oct. 27–29, 2016, at the Tampa Convention Center.

Nearly 1,000 nascent student entrepreneurs with an irrepressible spirit from more than 150 universities are expected to come to Tampa for the three-day conference, where attendees network with other entrepreneurial-minded students and listen to presentations from seasoned entrepreneurs, subject matter experts, motivational speakers and fellow students who are making the transition from dreamers to doers.

Poets Elizabeth A. I. Powell and Christine Poreba will give readings at The University of Tampa on Tuesday, Nov. 1, as part of the 2016-2017 Writers at the University series. The event begins at 7 p.m. in the Scarfone/Hartley Gallery on campus and is free and open to the public.

Gliding across the floor in Reeves Theatre, the ballroom dancers exhibit the kind of grace one would expect from world and European champions. What might have been a surprise was the addition of a wheelchair — Hanna Harchakova and Ihar Kisialiou, of Belarus, are champions in wheelchair ballroom dance.

On Tuesday, Oct. 25, The University of Tampa will welcome the CEOs of myMatrixx, Odyssey Marine Exploration and SynDaver Labs to kick off the 2016-2017 Business Network Symposium series. There will be a continental breakfast at 7:15 a.m., followed by the program from 7:45–9 a.m. The event, which is free and open to the public, will be held in the Vaughn Center Crescent Club, 401 W. Kennedy Blvd.
