A team of University of Tampa students took second place in the national best practices competition in the Beta Alpha Psi annual meeting, which was held in Baltimore on Aug. 4–6.

Beta Alpha Psi (BAP) is an honorary organization for financial information students and professionals.

Claire-Marie Maillot ’18 is used to traveling back to France each summer, the country where her father was born. But this year, she went without them and spent a month with the French military police.

Maillot had an internship with the Forensic and Criminal Intelligence Agency of the French Gendarmerie outside of Paris.

The University of Tampa recently announced that — for the fourth year in a row — 100 percent of nursing graduates passed the National Council Licensure Examination for Registered Nurses (NCLEX-RN) on the first try.

UT is one of the few Florida schools with a 100 percent first-time passage rate for 2016 graduates. Graduates of all the nursing schools in Florida, which includes BSN and associate’s degree in nursing programs, take the NCLEX-RN exam. The 2016 national average of passage for first-time exam takers is approximately 85.7 percent. Florida schools have a 76.4 percent passing rate to date.

Kristen Au ’17 was excited to step out of her textbook for her Asian studies minor and into real-life China this summer when she headed to Shanghai for six weeks of cultural immersion and academic pursuit.

Au, an international studies major, is studying international trade and global emerging markets at the East China Normal University, as well as meeting other students, traveling and just observing all she can.

The University of Tampa recently received LEED® Silver certification from the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) for the Maureen A. Daly Innovation and Collaboration Building, which was opened in September 2015.

The Daly Innovation and Collaboration Building is the fourth building on UT’s campus built in accordance with the rigorous standards set by USGBC’s LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) green building certification program. The other three buildings are the Science Annex, which achieved LEED Gold designation, the Dickey Health and Wellness Center, which achieved LEED Silver designation, and Jenkins Hall, which achieved LEED Gold designation.
