The University of Tampa announced today that it has earned regional reaccreditation by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC) for a term of 10 years, the maximum length of time that it can be awarded.

“What does she have that I don’t?” If you hear your teenage or college-aged daughter making sentiments such as that, you might start getting concerned about her body image.

While some research has shown a link between sexual activity and decreased body satisfaction among female young adults, a new University of Tampa study went a step further and examined whether the act of comparing one’s body to others’ influences the relationship between sexual activity and body dissatisfaction.

The University of Tampa’s newly constructed Innovation and Collaboration Building was recognized for its contributions to a vibrant downtown as the Tampa Downtown Partnership honored it as one of nine winners during the 2015 Annual Urban Excellence Awards.

The University of Tampa will showcase the work of graduating fine arts students at the BFA Exit Show Dec. 11–18 at the Scarfone/Hartley Gallery. There will be a reception to honor the graduates on Friday, Dec. 18, from 7–9 p.m.

Each student will present work in their area of expertise, including photography, painting, drawing, printmaking and mixed media. A video installation by Anthony Marsh, a new media production major from Topsfield, MA, will be shown in the Photo Studio.

On Friday, Dec. 11, 10 teams of three to four University of Tampa students will compete for a chance to win $1 million in startup capital. UT is one of approximately 25 colleges and universities chosen to host a local edition of the Hult Prize, allowing the winning team to bypass the application round and go straight to regional competition. The UT event will be held from 1–4:30 p.m. in the John P. Lowth Entrepreneurship Center on the eighth floor of the Innovation and Collaboration Building.
