The University of Tampa will present its popular Dance Happening Oct. 28–30 featuring pieces that explore everything from current social issues to dance for the pure joy of movement. All performances begin at 8 p.m. in Falk Theatre, located at 428 W. Kennedy Blvd.

Always a popular event on campus, the Dance Happening will feature popular music and more than 70 student dancers from all sectors of the University community.

As an applied sociologist, Professor Norma Winston has taught cost-benefit analysis to her UT students for decades. So it was second nature for her to be involved in a community partnership measuring the cost effectiveness of an initiative to combat chronic homelessness.

Bring your kids to The University of Tampa on Tuesday, Oct. 27, for Kids at UT, an annual Halloween celebration for children in the Tampa Bay area hosted by the Residence Hall Association. The event is scheduled from 4–7 p.m. and is free and open to the public.

On Tuesday, Oct. 27, The University of Tampa will welcome former FBI profiler Joe Navarro to share insights from his new book, Dangerous Personalities, as part of its UT Writes series. The program begins at 5 p.m. in Plant Hall’s Fletcher Lounge, 401 W. Kennedy Blvd., and is free and open to the public.

Navarro spent 25 years as an FBI special agent in the area of counterintelligence and behavioral assessment. He has lectured throughout Europe and South America and has taught at The University of Tampa, Harvard University, the FBI and is currently an adjunct faculty member at St. Leo University in Florida.

The University of Tampa will welcome pianist Solon Pierce on Sunday, Oct. 18, for a guest artist concert. The performance, which is free and open to the public, begins at 7:30 p.m. in Plant Hall’s Grand Salon, 401 W. Kennedy Blvd.

The program will open with Ich ruf’ zu dir, Herr Jesu Christ, originally composed by J.S. Bach and transcribed for piano by Ferruccio Busoni. The program also includes several pieces by Ramón Delgado Palacios and selections from Preludes, Op. 11 by Alexander Scriabin. Pierce will also perform works by Gunnar Johansen, Justin Henry Rubin, Darius Milhaud and Percy Granger.
