On Tuesday, Sept. 8, University of Tampa Associate Professor of Sociology Bruce Friesen will discuss this type of moral change as well as the evolution of human rights as the world’s first global moral system, ideas he explores in his new book, Moral Systems and the Evolution of Human Rights (Springer 2015).

The presentation, which kicks off the University’s Honors Program symposia series, will begin at 7 p.m. in the Trustees’ Room on the ninth floor of the Vaughn Center.

UT’s newest building on campus — which features a state-of-the-art entrepreneurship center and high tech cybersecurity labs — will be open to the public during an open house on Thursday, Sept. 3, at 10 a.m. The building also includes campus safety offices, innovative classrooms, study spaces, faculty offices and a Starbucks store.

While many finance majors choose a path in investments, wealth management or banking, Dominique Brillantes ’15 found fashion.

An international business and finance major with a French minor, Brillantes spent this summer at a corporate internship at Nordstrom’s headquarters in Seattle as a financial planning intern, working with numbers but surrounding himself with the products and influencing the creative process.
