The University of Tampa will hold its 139th commencement Saturday, Dec. 13, at 9:30 a.m. in the Bob Martinez Athletics Center. The ceremony will include 450 graduates, including 349 bachelor’s degree candidates and 101 master’s degree candidates.Posted December 01, 2014 in News
Celebrate the holiday season on Sunday, Dec. 7, at The University of Tampa’s annual holiday concert, And Heaven and Nature Sing. There will be two performances, at 2 and 4 p.m., in the Sykes Chapel and Center for Faith and Values. The program is free and open to the public, but seating is limited. Doors open 30 minutes before the concert.

A team of five UT studentswho propose using bamboo-fabricated products to boost the quality of life fordisadvantaged children won the local competition of the Hult Prize on Friday,Nov. 21.

Finding a way to increase early childhood education in an urban slum only took seven weeks for 10 UT teams who competed in the Tampa edition of the Hult Prize. They plan to make social change using bamboo.
While their plans aren’t foolproof, the winner of the Nov. 21 round will have four more months to iron out the details as the group members prepare for the regional finals March 13–14, 2015, in Boston, one of six global locations where regional finals are being held.Posted November 24, 2014 in News
The University of Tampa’s Sykes College of Business Hall of Fame Speaker Series, featuring Raymond James founder Tom James and Tampa Bay Lightning owner Jeff Vinik, will be broadcast on WEDU PBS (check local listings) on Thursday, Nov. 27, at 8:30 p.m., and Sunday, Nov. 30, at 1 p.m.
In the show, titled “Matching Wits with Wall Street with Tom James and Jeff Vinik,” Vinik and James discuss their personal strategies for success; competition in business, sports and investing; and enriching a community while growing a business.
