From Oct. 9–12, The University of Tampa will stage Six Characters in Search of an Author, a play by Luigi Pirandello that turns a mirror onto the theatre itself. Show times are 8 p.m. on Thursday–Saturday, Oct. 9–11, and 2 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 12. All performance will be in Falk Theatre, located at 428 W. Kennedy Blvd.

Six Characters in Search of an Author was written in 1921 by Pirandello, an Italian novelist and playwright. It is an absurdist meta-theatrical play about the relationship between authors, their characters and theatre practitioners in which a family of characters left unrealized by their author interrupts the rehearsal of another Pirandello play and demands the director and cast stage their story.

When Sarah Zaki '15 came to college, she was followed by ominous warnings about the lack of jobs for graduates. But the gap of MIS jobs and those with technology skills is wide, and she wants to let students know about it.

“You don’t have to be a techy nerd to work in this field,” Zaki said. “I just want to show students what is out there. We love technology, you can make good money and you’re in demand. I’m lucky because I fell into MIS. I want to expose that to others.”

One of Jacques Antonorsi’s favorite places on campus to play the piano is Plant Hall. He is usually alone in the Grand Salon, though the music melts out into the hallways, wafting over passersby.

However, this Friday, Sept. 26, Antonorsi will be playing a little further down the hallway in the Fletcher Lounge, and he won’t be alone. He’s one of two student soloists performing with The Florida Orchestra Musicians Association’s Fourth Annual Benefit Concert.
