Haylee Yeatman ’15 was sitting in an introduction to business class as a UT freshman when it clicked — she wanted to be an entrepreneur. Now entering her senior year, and having just this week completed an introduction to entrepreneurship class, Yeatman is looking for a way to blend her love of sports with her desire to own a business. Her summer internship with Tampa Parks and Recreation is giving her an insider's look at running a recreation program.

Is it possible for you to program your body at breakfast to burn fat throughout the day?

Researchers in The University of Tampa’s Human Performance Lab are hypothesizing just that. 

Jacob Wilson, who oversees the lab that specializes in studying how nutritional supplements impact training, and Ryan Lowery ’14, a recent alumnus and graduate student in UT’s Master of Science in exercise and nutrition science, are using a new, $60,000 MOXUS metabolic cart to test their theory.

Being in the ESPN control room during a live game is nothing short of thrilling for Steve Soliani ’15. There is a wall of screens showing just about every angle of the field, producers shouting out commands of where to cut the live feed to, countdowns to the end of the commercial breaks, and Soliani, keeping statistics of the game at hand. “It’s so hectic,” said Soliani, an intern with ESPN’s Wide World of Sports Complex at Walt Disney World Resort. “And I love it.”

On Stage: Women of All Ages, an exhibition of the performance photography of Tampa-based photographer Jim Lennon, will be on view at The University of Tampa Scarfone/Hartley Gallery June 13–July 3. There will be an opening reception on Friday, June 13, from 7–9 p.m.
