Sitting in a circle — some on the floor, some in chairs — the group gathered for the Urban Bush Women workshop March 26 reflected on what had transpired during the previous three hours inside the Edison Building dance studio on UT’s campus.

Themes like vulnerability, self-awareness, nonverbal communication and the true act of listening tumbled to the center of the circle. All this, after just three hours of dancing together.

Three leaders in the financial services, managed eye care and public relations industries will share their expertise at the final Business Network Symposium of the 2013-2014 academic year on Tuesday, April 8, at The University of Tampa.

The event begins with a continental breakfast at 7:15 a.m., and the program runs from 7:45–9 a.m. The symposium will be held in the Vaughn Center Crescent Club and is free and open to the public.

The 40th anniversary of the Lisa Pauchey JROTC Drill Meet at the University of Tampa on Saturday, March 29, will feature SOCOM Para-Commandos, more than 600 JROTC students from more than 20 schools around the state and UT’s award-winning Army ROTC Spartan battalion.

Every year since 2008, Inc. Magazine scours through a list of nearly 100 college startups and chooses 16 as the best of the best. UT students have been named to this list twice — once in 2012 and again this year.

Beatmerch, a company created by Duncan Abdelnour ’14, was named one of the Coolest College Startups for 2014.
