After successful performances at Studio 620 in St. Petersburg in August, Frank Gillen, recently retired professor of English, will bring his new play, A Center That Holds, to The University of Tampa Oct. 18–19. Both performances are free and open to the public and begin at 8 p.m. in Reeves Theatre on the second floor of the Vaughn Center on the UT campus.

The University of Tampa will welcome pianist Solon Pierce on Sunday, Oct. 13, for a guest artist concert. The concert, which is free and open to the public, begins at 7:30 p.m. in Plant Hall’s Grand Salon.

Many college students have trouble answering the question, ”What is your major?” It’s a big decision that might set the path for the rest of their lives.

At UT, the new Academic Success Center helps students identify their strengths and then, through the Academic Center for Excellence, create a step-by-step curriculum of ways to unveil the answer.

In honor of the United Nations’ International Day of the Girl on Friday, Oct. 11, UT will screen the award-winning documentary Girl Rising. Girl Rising, directed by Academy Award nominee Richard Robbins, is an innovative feature film that spotlights the stories of nine unforgettable girls born into unforgiving circumstances.
