Stop by The University of Tampa on Wednesday, Sept. 25, for the University’s fourth annual Sax Nite — and don’t forget to bring your own horn. The concert, which begins at 7:30 p.m. in Plant Hall’s Grand Salon, will end with a piece for saxophone choir that anyone in the audience who plays sax can join in on.

The University of Tampa 2013-2014 faculty colloquium series begins with a presentation by Kacy Tillman, assistant professor of English, on Friday, Sept. 27, at 3 p.m. in the Sykes College of Business, Room 131. A reception will follow the presentation in the lobby.

Tammy Charles ’12 was sitting in class one day during the last semester of her senior year, when a professor, dressed in full graduation regalia, walked into the room and read from a scroll, announcing to the whole class that she was being invited to join the Phi Kappa Phi honorary society.

“It was so embarrassing,” said Charles of the ritual tapping of inductees to the nation’s oldest, largest and most selective all-discipline honor society.

Michael Houlihan and Bonnie Harvey, co-founders of Barefoot Cellars, will be at The University of Tampa Wednesday, Sept. 25, to talk about Barefoot Wines, which they started in their laundry room in 1985 and is now a top wine brand in the U.S.
