After a brief hiatus for the holiday season, The University of Tampa will resume its First Friday at Noon recital series on Friday, Feb. 1. The concert will feature Ryan Hebert, University organist and assistant professor of music, performing selections by Johann Sebastian Bach, Craig Sellar Lang, Frank Bridge and Théodore Dubois.

The Spring 2013 Honors Program symposia series will kick off on Tuesday, Feb. 5, with a presentation by David Staats, managing director of G. William Miller & Co., on “Contemporary Afghanistan, U.S. Policy Involvement.” Staats’ talk begins at 4 p.m. in Reeves Theater in the Vaughn Center on the UT campus.

Walking down 7th Avenue in historic Ybor City, the UT freshmen were startled by a loud bang. While it was just from the crew doing renovation work on the club Amphitheatre, it fit seamlessly into the walking tour Associate Professor Anthony LaRose and Kendra New ’13 were leading on the mafia’s history in Tampa.

A student-entrepreneur pitch competition, networking and national speakers will highlight the 2013 Southeast Entrepreneurship Conference (SEEC 2013), held in the Vaughn Center at The University of Tampa on Feb. 1–2. The conference is hosted by UT Entrepreneurs, UT’s chapter of The Collegiate Entrepreneurs’ Organization.
