The Spartan Indoor Futbol Club is not only diverse nationally, but internationally as well. Its members come from countries like Colombia, Saudi Arabia, Kenya and Brazil. While they may not be fluent in one another’s languages, when they are on the pitch, they all speak the same thing: futbol. On Sunday, Nov. 11, The University of Tampa will host a day of musical and educational events with the Symphonic Orchestra of Guanajuato from Mexico and the LUXA 21 trio from Germany, culminating in a concert by the two groups at First Baptist Church of Tampa at 7:30 p.m.

Elisabet Fandino ’13, a music performance major from Jacksonville, wasn’t nervous about being critiqued by professional musicians on her piano performance. “Sometimes it is necessary to have a different person listen and analyze what you just played to give you fresh and new ideas,” said Fandino of the master class she attended at UT Nov. 6 with members of the National Symphony Orchestra of Cuba.Posted November 05, 2012 in News
