Leaders in the healthcare management, intimate apparel, and networking and telecommunications industries will share their experiences at the first Business Network Symposium of the 2012-2013 academic year on Tuesday, Oct.9. There will be a continental breakfast at 7:15 a.m., followed by the program from 7:45 to 9 a.m. The event, which is free and open to the public, will be held in the Vaughn Center Crescent Club.

For the 16th consecutive year, The University of Tampa has set another enrollment record. This year’s total — including graduates and undergraduates — is 6,958, up 3.2 percent from last year’s total of 6,738. This year’s total enrollment is a 62 percent increase from the enrollment a decade ago. Total undergraduate enrollment is 6,143, and graduate students now number 769.

Spartan basketball guard Ryan Kidd ’14 is ecstatic about the new facilities at the Martinez Athletics Center (MAC). “It’s changed everything,” said Kidd, president of the Student Athletes Advisory Committee who attended the Sept. 27 re-dedication of the center and adjacent Health Sciences and Human Performance (HSHP) building. “The whole vibe with the message of unity and emphasis on Spartans, I just love it,” said Kidd.

The University of Tampa Women’s Glee Club, Men’s Glee Club and Chamber Singers will perform a variety of music — ranging from Mozart to Billy Joel — at their Fall Choral Concert on Friday, Oct. 5. Part of the University’s Family Weekend, the concert will begin at 7:30 p.m. in Fletcher Lounge on the first floor of Plant Hall on campus.

Several members of The University of Tampa’s fine arts adjunct faculty will display their latest work in an exhibition at the Scarfone/Hartley Gallery from Oct. 5–27. An opening reception will be held Friday, Oct. 5, from 7–9 p.m.
