What started as an experiment in Assistant Professor Denis Rey’s Intro to Peace Studies class has become a bit of a tradition. Throughout the course of the semester, students focus on themes like terrorism, human rights, nuclear proliferation and international law. The class culminates in conducting a peace rally, now permanent to the syllabus, to bring awareness to a topic of the students’ choosing.

This past week, several editors of UT’s student newspaper, The Minaret, unplugged from their computers, shut off their digital cameras and produced a special section of the paper without the use of modern technology.

The University of Tampa Chamber Singers will present its spring concert in the Sykes Chapel and Center for Faith and Values on Monday, April 23, at 7:30 p.m. The concert is free and open to the public, but seating is limited.

Kelly Fitzgerald ’15 has been contemplating her beliefs. Not so strange for a college student, but Fitzgerald is documenting them on a roll of toilet paper which she’ll unroll on April 16 during the This I Believe Showcase, just one of the many events during Interfaith Harmony Week April 16-20.

The final Business Network Symposium of the 2011-2012 academic year will be held Tuesday, April 10, at The University of Tampa. Speakers include Joy Gendusa, founder and CEO of PostcardMania; Gordon Tunstall, founder and president of Tunstall Consulting Inc; and John H. Armstrong, M.D., chief medical officer at the University of South Florida Health Center for Advanced Medical Learning and Simulation.
