Faculty Unionization Booklet
Faculty Colleagues:
Thank you for your interest in seeking the facts about union representation. We encourage you to explore the factual resources compiled on this website and consider how a union can affect our faculty, our students and the university’s future.
This is an exciting time to be a part of The University of Tampa, and we are proud to welcome new faculty members. As a growing university, we are not without our challenges in maintaining an outstanding learning experience for our students and continuing to thrive as a very competitive academic institution. We have always valued collaboration as the best way to support a successful future for our University.
Since the University of Tampa may be the latest target of a Service Employees International Union (SEIU) campaign, you may be approached by a union member or a fellow faculty member asking you to sign a union card or attend a union meeting.
Your federal rights under the National Labor Relations Act protect your right to say “no” to union cards, union meetings and union representation. In fact, you don’t need to sign anything to learn the facts and get your questions answered.
Make an informed choice. We urge that you not sign anything or reach a conclusion before you consider all the facts.
