Gangi has studied a wide array of topics including prejudice and discrimination, health persuasion and the role of memory in self-understanding. She also has training in psychophysiological measurement. Currently, she is primarily focused on understanding the rudiments of mental illness stigma.
Gangi has published over a dozen peer-reviewed articles in journals such as the Journal of Experimental Social Psychology, Psychology and Health, Social Cognition and the Journal of Clinical and Social Psychology. She has also presented her research at international professional conferences such as the annual Society for Personality and Social Psychology conference. Recently, she presented and is publishing her research on racial/ethnic health disparities in the COVID-19 pandemic.
Gangi graduated summa cum laude (GPA of 4.0) with her B.S. in mathematics and psychology and received the Psychology Student of the Year Award. In graduate school, she received the prestigious Graduate Research Fellowship from the National Science Foundation. She also passed both her oral and written comprehensive exams with distinction. Furthermore, she received a quantitative emphasis on her doctoral degree by completing additional statistics training.
