Career Specialties

Mary Martinasek specializes in social marketing and mixed methods inquiry. Her research interests include asthma, vaping, inhalational marijuana and waterpipe tobacco (hookah smoking). Martinasek is a certified asthma educator, certified health education specialist, and a registered respiratory therapist.

Professional and Community Activities

Martinasek is a founding board member and active volunteer with the Tampa Bay Asthma Coalition. She serves on the editorial board for two peer-reviewed journals. In the community, Martinasek provides education to health care students and community members on vaping, hookah, motivational interviewing, and lung health issues.
