Advocacy and Bias Prevention
Bias Education Resource Team – The Bias Education Resource Team is a group of University employees that provides support and resources to those individuals who have been targeted or impacted by an act of bias. The role of the BERT is to offer impacted community members a space to have their voice heard, opportunities for education to mitigate or prevent similar occurrences in the future, and to ensure a comprehensive and timely response to bias incidents. Collectively, this will lead to positive change for both the individual and the campus climate.
Dean of Students Diversity Advisory Group – The Dean of Students Diversity Advisory Group is a forum for the Dean of Students and other administrators to hear directly from students about their experiences to better advocate for a more inclusive learning environment that supports unique perspectives and values differences.

LGBTQ+ Resources – The University of Tampa takes pride in our students, staff, faculty and alumni; we want everyone, of all genders and sexualities, to feel safe, respected, included, valued, supported, encouraged and celebrated. Health and Wellness
Dickey Health and Wellness Center – The Dickey Health and Wellness Center at The University of Tampa offers basic health care services, wellness services and health information for preventing illness and maintaining an energetic life.
Live Well UT – Live Well UT is a student-led organization that empowers the UT community to continually improve healthy behaviors and lifestyles in themselves and others. Live Well UT is based on a holistic well-being philosophy that addresses the community’s dynamic need and all aspects of a balanced life by providing a wide array of services and education. It also acts as the overarching “umbrella” for multiple wellness initiatives out of the Wellness Center.

Anti-racism and Diversity Resources for Educators - This faculty-created resource collects a number of books, podcasts, films, articles and activities promoting the principles of anti-racism and encouraging educators to think about how they can create anti-racist and culturally responsive classroom environments.

Religion and Beliefs
Live Well UT—Better Together - “Better Together is an organization composed of students dedicated to interfaith cooperation on campus and in the greater community with the purpose of promoting understanding and respect for diverse spiritual and nonspiritual beliefs by means of dialogue, education and advocacy.
As a member of the Interfaith Youth Core, based out of Chicago, IL, Better Together seeks to promote awareness and understanding of both similarities and differences between all religions, as well as establish a basis in which students can develop strong diverse friendships through interfaith cooperation.”
Spiritual Life - “The University of Tampa works to further strengthen UT students’ academic and personal development through character-building, spiritual development and enhancing their understanding of world cultures and religions.
Although the University is independent and non-sectarian, religious/spiritual beliefs and practices are highly respected and encouraged. All spiritual organizations and local places of worship follow The University of Tampa's Spiritual Agreement of Mutual Respect and Understanding.”
Sykes Chapel and Center for Faith and Values - The Sykes Chapel and Center for Faith and Values is a visual statement of The University of Tampa’s commitment to nurturing the development of character and values of its students. It is an inspiring setting for meditation and celebration of all faiths, enhancing the understanding of diversity, world cultures and religions, and improving religious literacy on campus are central to its mission. The University’s intent is not to prescribe, but to aid students in developing a sense of purpose and self-awareness through reflection and learning to make decisions based on principles, beliefs and values.
