The annual juried Student Art Exhibit, featuring student artwork from the University of Tampa, will open Friday, Jan. 31, and run through Friday, March 1, in the Scarfone/Hartley Gallery on campus.

The exhibit gives UTampa students from any major an opportunity to display their artwork for the public. Pieces in the exhibit are in a variety of media, including paintings, drawings, prints, photographs, ceramics, sculpture, digital media, animations and mixed media.

Each year, this student exhibit is juried and judged by an artist or curator who is not affiliated with the University. This year’s judge is Joanna Robotham, curator of modern and contemporary art at the Tampa Museum of Art.

Outstanding students included in this juried art exhibit will be selected to receive awards made possible by the Gasparilla Festival of the Arts and the College Galleries and the Friends of the Gallery organization. Robotham will announce the winners of these awards at a reception on Friday, Feb. 7, from 6-8 p.m.

The gallery is located on campus at the R.K. Bailey Art Studios at 310 N. Boulevard. Gallery hours are 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Tuesday through Friday, and 1-4 p.m. Saturday. There is no charge for admission.
