A composer festival featuring the music of Libby Larsen, one of America’s most performed composers, will be held March 5–6 at The University of Tampa.

Events that are free and open to the public include:

• Wednesday, March 5, 7:30 p.m., Sykes Chapel and Center for Faith and Values. Faculty concert featuring a flute and organ duet, a cello and bass duet, a bassoon and piano piece and a piece for voice. Performers include the UT Chamber Singers, Ryan Hebert, organ; Barbara Prescott, flute; Dee Moses, bass; Lowell Adams, cello; Maurizio Venturini, bassoon; Grigorios Zamparas, piano; and Hein Jung, voice.
• Thursday, March 6, 7:30 p.m., First Baptist Church. Student concert featuring the UT Wind Ensemble, Orchestra and Camerata Singers. There will be a reception following the concert where attendees can meet Larsen.

While Larsen is on campus, she will speak with UT music students, give lectures and speak at both concerts.

Larsen is one of America’s most performed living composers. She has created a catalogue of more than 500 works, spanning virtually every genre — from intimate vocal and chamber music to massive orchestral works and more than 15 operas. Grammy award-winning and widely recorded, she is constantly sought after for commissions and premieres by major artists, ensembles and orchestras around the world.

This is the sixth annual composer festival at UT, and is sponsored by the UT Department of Music in the College of Arts and Letters.
