Three of Tampa’s most notable professionals — Pam Iorio, Maryann Ferenc and Simone Barefield — will speak at a Women’s Forum event at The University of Tampa on Tuesday, Feb. 18.

The forum, which is meant to introduce current and prospective UT students to local business and community leaders, is open to the public and to the media.

The forum will be held on the 9th floor of the Vaughn Center on campus. The schedule follows:
  • 8 a.m. — Registration and Networking
  • 8:30–9:15 a.m. — Breakfast
  • 9:30–10:30 a.m. — Panelists to discuss the book Lean In, and to share their own stories of struggle and success
  • 10:30–11 a.m. — Networking/Closing
Pam Iorio is the former mayor of the city of Tampa, and the current leader-in-residence at UT’s Sykes College of Business; Simone Barefield is the owner and president of a human resources consulting and executive search company; and Maryann Ferenc is the owner of the restaurant Mise En Place.

Monica Cook, organizer of the event and associate director of admissions, said UT students are lucky to be surrounded by individuals — including faculty members, business owners, alumni and community leaders — who have proven to make a difference in society.

“This is a great opportunity to meet three of them,” she said.

The Women’s Forum is sponsored by UT’s Office of Admissions. For more information, contact Cook at mcook@ut.edu.
