Former University of Tampa baseball pitcher Nick Peterson ’10 is among the contestants vying for “The Bachelorette,” which airs on ABC Mondays at 8 p.m. Peterson recently completed the third round, receiving a rose from Ashley.
He becomes the second former Spartan baseball player in the show, following
Roberto Martinez from last season. Martinez won the competition and became engaged to Ali Fedotwosky. The couple went on a hometown date, which featured the UT campus.
Peterson was a two-year letter winner for the UT baseball team and was a key pitcher for the 2006 national championship team. He was also a 12th round selection of the New York Yankees in the 2006 MLB Draft.
In 2006, he appeared in 15 games, compiling a 3-1 record with a 2.38 ERA. The hard-throwing pitcher also struck out 81 batters in 56.2 innings. He also threw a scoreless inning of relief in a national semifinal victory over Franklin-Pierce College.
An entrepreneurship major in college, Peterson has his own personal training business in Tampa.
