Come to The University of Tampa on Saturday, Nov. 1, and be entertained by witches, gypsies, fairies, princes, spirits, pirates and Puritans as the Opera Workshop presents Halloween Hullabaloo!
The event begins at 7:30 p.m. in Reeves Theater on the second floor of the Vaughn Center and is free and open to the public.
The program includes the “Witches Chorus” from
MacBeth, excerpts from
The Crucible, the “Fly Duet” from
Orpheus in the Underworld, the “Card Trio” and “Gypsy Song” from
Carmen, excerpts from
Hansel and Gretel, excerpts from
The Magic Flute and “When a Felon’s Not Engaged in His Employment” and “When the Foeman Bares His Steel!” from
Pirates of Penzance.
The production is directed by Robyn Rocklein, adjunct professor of voice at UT, with music direction by Stephen Penn, a vocal coach and pianist for the St. Petersburg Opera and director of education outreach for Opera Tampa.
Opera Workshop is an auditioned ensemble open to vocal performance majors and students enrolled in voice lessons during the semester.
