On Monday, June 6, The University of Tampa launched its redesigned website at www.ut.edu. The image-rich website marks a dramatic improvement in the appearance, navigability and functionality of the University’s website.

The development of the new website was coordinated by the Office of Public Information and Publications, in conjunction with the Office of Information Technology. A committee with representatives from academic, student affairs, admissions, alumni affairs, information technology and administrative areas drove the redesign, a process that began more than a year ago.

“We recognize that the website is many people’s first impression of UT, and that an attractive and functional website is critical to maintaining our competitive position and spurring interest in the University,” said Eric Cardenas, director of public information and publications.

New features to note in the redesigned site include:
Breadcrumbs
PDF resource boxes
Image galleries throughout
Related news stories box
Call out boxes for feature information
Custom menus for each section
Searchable online faculty directory

The launch of the website coincides with a redesign of the UT alumni magazine, UT Journal, and the implementation of a licensing program to promote and protect UT’s logos and marks.

UT’s website had last been redesigned more than six years ago. The new site was designed in-house, and UT partnered with the Chicago-based firm WSOL for development assistance.
