The part-time MBA program in The University of Tampa’s Sykes College of
Business was named one of the top 295 programs in the country in the
2012 edition of “Best Graduate Schools” by
U.S. News & World Report.
UT’s
program was ranked 138, tying such schools as the University of Central
Florida, Bradley University and St. John’s University.
“While
the part-time MBA at the Sykes College of Business is designed for
students with full-time jobs and other commitments, it is no less
rigorous than our full-time MBA,” said Frank Ghannadian, dean of the
Sykes College of Business. “Graduates of the part-time MBA have
developed the global perspective, strategic vision and innovative
thinking needed to make the right decisions and to manage risk in a
changing world.”
Within an 80,000-sq.-ft. facility, the Sykes
College of Business offers state-of-the-art resources such as the
Huizenga Family Foundation Trading Center and more than 1,300 data ports
and Wi-Fi for high-speed access. It is also home to the Center for
Ethics, TECO Energy Center for Leadership, Naimoli Institute for
Business Strategy, Florida Entrepreneurship Center and the Florida
Directors’ Institute.
U.S. News’s part-time MBA ranking
is based solely on a fall 2010 peer assessment survey that asked
business school deans and MBA program directors at each of the nation’s
295 part-time MBA programs to rate the other part-time programs on a
5-point scale.
U.S. News defines a part-time MBA program
as being at an AACSB-accredited school with at least 20 students
enrolled part time in both fall 2009 and fall 2010. A part-time MBA
program had to meet the two-year enrollment and accreditation standard
to be included in the ranking.
Highlights of the rankings will be published in the “Best Graduate Schools” 2012 edition book, available April 5.
