UT Faculty Woodwind Trio Concert Sept. 24

On Monday, Sept. 24, The University of Tampa’s Faculty Woodwind Trio will perform. The concert begins at 7:30 p.m. in the Sykes Chapel and Center for Faith and Values and is free and open to the public.

The Faculty Woodwind Trio is comprised of Barbara Prescott, flute, Maurizio Venturini, bassoon, and Grigorios Zamparas, piano. The trio will perform a program of chamber music for flute, bassoon and piano. 
Prescott teaches flute at UT as an adjunct professor in the music department. She was previously principal flute in the Civic Orchestra of Chicago and, after moving to Florida, played in the Florida Gulf Coast Symphony. 
Venturini is an adjunct professor of music at UT and is an instructor of bassoon. He was the principal bassoon of the Rome Opera Orchestra, the Naples Philharmonic in Italy and is currently assistant principal bassoon with the Florida Orchestra. After winning the Lanciano International Competition, he was a featured soloist throughout Italy and Europe.
Zamparas is an associate professor of music and director of piano studies at UT. He is an active concert pianist and performs both as a soloist and in chamber music ensembles. He has given master classes around the world.
