Stop by The University of Tampa on Tuesday, Oct. 7, for an evening of chamber music featuring several members of UT’s music faculty. The concert begins at 7:30 p.m. in Plant Hall’s Grand Salon and is free and open to the public.
Performers include Lei Liu, violin; Nancy Headlee, viola; Lowell Adams, cello; Dee Moses, double bass; and Grigorios Zamparas, piano.
The program includes Franz Schubert's Trout Quintet, composed when Schubert was only 22 years old. This piano quintet is unusual in its form (it is written in five movements) and instrumentation (it includes a double bass instead of a second violin part). It is called the Trout Quintet because the fourth movement is a set of variations based on Schubert’s Lied Die Forelle (The Trout).
