Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. once said, “Life’s most persistent and urgent question is: ‘What are you doing for others?’” Students, faculty and staff from The University of Tampa will answer this question and honor the memory of King on Friday, Jan. 24, with a day of service to the Tampa community.

An annual tradition at the University, participants will volunteer their time and energy at five area nonprofits, including:

• Metropolitan Ministries, 2002 N. Florida Ave.
• Habitat for Humanity ReStore, 3738 E. Hillsborough Ave.
• Sustainable Living Project, 918 W. Sligh Ave.
• Keeping Tampa Bay Beautiful, Florida State Fairgrounds
• Animal Coalition of Tampa, 502 N. Gilchrist Ave.

More than 100 students, faculty and staff have signed up to participate. There will be two sessions to accommodate students’ class schedules, a morning session from 9 a.m. to noon and an afternoon session from 1 to 4 p.m. Volunteers will gather in Reeves Theater on the second floor of the Vaughn Center 30 minutes before their session is scheduled to start for orientation. They will then travel by bus to a volunteer location.
